Copart runs 20 yards in California, more than in any other state. Every sale is online, so the yard you choose decides where you preview and pick up the vehicle, not whether you can bid on it. Five yards are named for the market they serve rather than the city they sit in; the table shows both.

Instructor note from Garrett Eddings: Copart is one of the most popular auctions with my introductory students, usually because it looks like an easy way to start flipping cars. Before you buy here, read who can buy at Copart and what California law says about reselling on our Copart guide. Always confirm a lot's buyer requirements on copart.com before you bid.

Planning a Copart pickup in California

  • Check the pickup deadline on the listing. Copart charges storage once it passes.
  • Match the hauler to the title. A salvage or non-repairable vehicle can't be driven on the road; plan a tow or trailer.
  • Bring what the yard asks for. Your buyer number and release documents; confirm on the yard's page at copart.com/locations.

Other California dealer auctions

Copart is a salvage auction. For wholesale dealer inventory, see Manheim, ADESA, CarMax Auctions, EBlock, America's AIM and ACV Auctions, which Copart now owns but runs separately. Every auction by company: California Dealer Auction Playbook.
