As of August 2026: Auctions in Motion (AIM) started as an independent, boutique wholesale auction company, originally headquartered in Westlake Village, California. It was acquired by American Auto Auction Group in October 2012. That parent company later became America's Auto Auction, which was itself acquired by XLerate Group in December 2021. In 2022, XLerate consolidated its auction brands under one name, and AIM's locations were officially renamed — Auctions in Motion Santa Ana became America's AIM Santa Ana, and Auctions in Motion Thousand Oaks became America's AIM Thousand Oaks.
If you've heard the "AIM" name from earlier in your career, this is the same underlying business — it's real, still operating, just under new ownership and a slightly updated name. Both California locations remain active.
