As of October 16, 2026: Cox Automotive owns Manheim. Copart is a publicly traded company, and it completed its purchase of ACV Auctions on October 16, 2026; ACV now runs as an independent Copart subsidiary. RB Global (formerly Ritchie Bros.) owns IAA, after closing that deal in 2023. Carvana has owned ADESA's U.S. physical auctions since May 2022. CarMax runs CarMax Auctions. Ownership changes don't merge the auctions for dealers: each still has its own account, rules and fees.

What it means for dealers

  • Copart and ACV are still two separate auctions. ACV keeps its own dealer accounts, condition reports and arbitration policy. Copart keeps its salvage marketplace. See Copart guide and ACV insider guide.
  • Rules come from the auction, not the parent company. Check each auction's arbitration, fees and buyer eligibility. See How does auction arbitration work?
  • Watch for policy updates after an ownership change. Terms can change over time, so re-read them before you bid.
